Go out and get your run on!
IT’S NATIONAL RUNNING DAY!
What? You didn’t know that this illustrious day existed? Most runner’s probably don’t know about it because every
day is National Running Day. But, here is the thing about runners…we don’t discriminate. We know we have found the elixir of life and are ready and willing to share it.
So, you might be asking yourself, ‘Ok, it’s national running day, what do I do? Is there a parade? Festivities?’
Well, depending on where you live there is a lot!
In New York City’s Central Park, Runner’s World has paired with Foot Locker and has free coaching sessions all day long!
Coaches take beginner, intermediate and advanced runners through training runs, core workouts and running clinics twice a week for 6 weeks in the most beautiful backdrop in the country–Central Park. If you are interested, wear your skimpy shorts (because after all, you never know who you will meet), grab your sneaks and get on it!
If you are like me and like to run and drink, the New York Road Runners have a festive night tonight planned. Click here for the fun run and happy hour, emphasis on the happy hour.
Outside New York City, here are the events in your area.
Finally, if you don’t have anything going on in your area, start the movement yourself. Get your running gear on and do laps around the cubicles in your office. Simply shout, ‘happy national running day’ to all your co-workers. Trust me, it will be a day they won’t soon forget, and for you, you will have gotten your ‘run’ on!
Cheers and Happy National Running Day to you!
